Bit of Change

If I had a bit of change for every time I wanted

Eventually a rich old age I'd reach to live undaunted

By the need of daily life   by the daily grind

Challanges very real   but also in my mind

Patterns form internalized   we get used to it.

Prancing horses freedom prized dispite the bridle bit.

But every now and then my friend just when we've got it sewn

The pattern changes just a bit and newness is our own

That is time to say goodby to what we've known before

To go beyond the comfort zone    once we're shone the door

Vigilance and duty do appear to make us safer

But really we're all floating on a molten core's wafer

Thin cooled crust just strong enough for us to stand

Amongst all the dust    encouraged we're well manned.

Clear harmonious gases make our atmosphere

As if we really own it    as if we own here!

We see a universal space    the view includes an earth

Of brilliant hues   of hopeful news    of celebrating birth.

Destruction and death are blurred   while hope flows anew

People everywhere are heard   with peace in their view.

With luck, love and purse we manage    so far it's what we've got

How large the universe of change    we're but a tiny dot.

Change will come in want or want not whether I am ready.

If a bit of change is wanted    change remains rock steady
